Euroleague Preview Vol.1: Round 7
Konstantinos Panas analyzes the upcoming matches of round 7 in Euroleague.
Maccabi Tel Aviv – Anadolu Efes
Both teams were victorious last week. Maccabi showed that they could beat almost everyone in the home court and Efes won’t be a problem if the Israeli side stays focused. On the other hand, the Turkish team took a solid W against Barcelona and gained confidence. Nobody can be sure about this game. Both teams like to attack in the open floor and using the backcourt power to win games.
Key Players – Pierre Jackson/ Ricky Ledo
Panathinaikos – Khimki Moscow
That’s another pair who went victorious last week. Panathinaikos took a crucial win against their eternal rival Olympiacos and Khimki managed to win Baskonia in a thrilling game. The greens are hoping to continue and show everyone they deserve a spot in the advantage teams, and the Russian squad comes without Anthony Gil to fight in a “hell” arena.
Key Players – James Gist/Alexey Shved
Baskonia – Real Madrid
The Spanish derby is a top class game especially now that Baskonia became tough and followed the plan of their new coach. Real Madrid, on the other hand, lost Gustavo Ayon and seemed wounded. But still Real has many players who can step up and win this game. Baskonia’s percentage from Deep will play a crucial role in the game’s flow.
Key Players – Jayson Granger/Luka Doncic
Nemanja Nedovic who was crucial last week against Crvena Zvezda is likely to miss this game. Zalgiris from the other hand comes with an unexpected strong win against Milano. Jasikevicius is doing a great job with a low budget team which is a team with the whole meaning. Unicaja seemed to have wakened up after the terrible loss to Valencia. It would be a great match without a clear favorite.
Key Players – Ray McCallum/ Edgaras Ulanovas
