Just getting into my 8th season overseas. This game has taken me all over the world, as I’ve played in 7 different countries. The thing I love the most about this job is simple. Everyday I wake up and get to do what I love. Continuing a passion I have had since I was 5 years old, pretending in my back yard to be the person I get to be now. It’s difficult most times when you’re an American playing overseas to keep the right perspective. Many different tides push you in many different directions. Wins and losses, being away from family, missing birthdays and holidays, and not being able to see the young people in your life grow up. Many teammates I have had simply focus on these things and it can make a players life tough over here. I don’t think for one second that it’s easy being away from all this and missing out, but I remind myself day in and day out that people would kill to be in my position.
I’ve been blessed over the years with great teammates, great cities, and a fiancé that supports me through it all. Man, it’s tough for the women out here!
It takes a certain type of women to be able to support a man in a career like this.
Season just getting going, and it’s incredible how much changing there is with rosters in Europe. A new city, new teammates, new restaurants, new life. Luckily God has me in his pocket and leading me every step of the way. Till next time— Taylor Rochestie
